SAIT POLYTECHNICCONTINUING EDUCATION FALL 2012 CONTINUUM CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. RULES ARE BINDING
Subject to applicable laws, these rules and regulations (the "Rules") govern all aspects of the contest and are binding upon all entrants. In the event of any inconsistency between the Rules and the conditions and explanations appearing in any other documents, these Rules shall take precedence. This contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. SAIT Polytechnic ("SAIT") reserves the right to make changes to the Continuing Education Winter 2013 Continuum Contest
where necessary, due to changing business, operational and/or marketing considerations.
2. ELIGIBILITY
The contest is open only to legal residents of Alberta who are at least 18 years of age or older. Members and associates of the “Promotional Group” are not eligible to win the prizes. This includes: employees, officers, directors of SAIT, MacLaren McCann, M2 Universal, or Industry Mailout. In order to receive the prize package, you must complete the online
subscription form for the Continuing Education e-newsletter (“Continuum”).
3. HOW TO ENTER
No purchase is necessary to enter the contest. In order to participate in the contest, you must have a valid e-mail address registered in your own name. You are allowed to enter only once. Multiple entries by one person from different e-mail addresses may result in disqualification from the contest. Winners must verify their identity prior to receiving their
4. CONTEST PERIOD AND DRAW DATE
The Contest will open from February 8, 2013 and end at 11:59 p.m. on February 28, 2013 (MST).
A random draw from eligible subscribers to SAIT’s Continuum for an iPhone 5 prize will be
conducted February 28, 2013 and announced by March 4, 2013.
The winners will receive an e-mail from SAIT and may be announced in the following issue
5. ODDS OF WINNING
The odds of winning the grand prize depend on the number of participants completing the
online subscription form for the Continuum e-newsletter during the contest period.
6. SKILL-TESTING REQUIREMENT
To be eligible to receive the prize from this contest, you must answer the following skill-
testing question: 270 multiplied by 4, divided by 2, minus 150.
7. PRIZE PACKAGE
One Grand Prize Package consisting of an iPhone 5.
Approximate maximum value of Grand Prize Package is $730.
Conditions: SAIT reserves the right to substitute a prize of approximately equal value. The grand prize package is non-transferable, has no cash value and cannot be combined with
8. PRIZE REDEMPTION (HOW TO GET YOUR PRIZE)
The grand prize winner will be notified by e-mail within five (5) business days of the random draw. If the grand prize winner cannot be contacted after three (3) business days, or the grand prize winner does not meet the criteria contained in these Rules, another entry will be randomly selected from the remaining eligible entry forms. The name of the prize winner may be posted in Continuum for a time period as deemed appropriate by SAIT following the random draw and/or redemption of the prize awarded. 9. ACCEPTANCE OF PRIZE
Prize must be accepted as awarded and cannot be exchanged for cash or other goods and
services. The awarding and allocation of the prize package is random.
10. PRIZE AFFIDAVIT, ELIGIBILITY RELEASE FORM
If you are the winner of the grand prize, you may be required, to complete and sign a Prize
Affidavit and an Eligibility Release form in order to obtain your grand prize.
11. PUBLICITY AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
By participating in the contest, entrants consent to the use of their names, cities of residence, photographs and/or images on video tape (the "Personal Information") for publicity purposes in all media carried out by SAIT without payment or compensation or
SAIT is committed to collecting and using the Personal Information requested from you, such as your name, e-mail address, and telephone number, solely and exclusively for the purposes of the contest as provided in the Rules. The Personal Information is collected under the authority of the Post-Secondary Learning Act and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) such as personal information may also be used to notify you of future program/course offerings or to evaluate this website. 12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
The winner must sign the Prize Claim Form releasing SAIT from any and all liability arising out of, pursuant to, or as a result of the carrying out of the contest, including liability arising from the participation in the contest, acceptance and use of the prizes, and compliance with the Rules.
SAIT is not responsible for contacting or forwarding prizes to winners who leave unclear, illegible, or incomplete information, or for entries lost, misdirected, delayed or destroyed on the Internet, or while in transit to SAIT. SAIT is not responsible for any prizes awarded or not awarded as a result of technical, mechanical, computer, telecommunication-disruption
or other similar errors, however caused.
All entries become the property of SAIT, which assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected entries or for any failure of the website during the promotional period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or line, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by SAIT on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion. 13. SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION OF PROMOTION AND CONTEST
SAIT reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend the contest should a virus or other cause beyond the reasonable control of SAIT corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempts to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of this contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, SAIT reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
