Activities
Teaching activities at Michigan State University (since 1975) have included: Undergraduate Teaching - Pre Clinical • Preceptor for clinical sciences (physical examinations) • Chairman – (Metabolic, Endocrine and Reproductive Endocrinology domain)2000 to 2008 • Basic science/clinical integration course – lectures on diabetes Clinical • Clerkship Preceptor for case presentations and "observed" history and physicals Preceptor for endocrinology & metabolism elective for students Attending on the general medicine service (approx. two months/year) Attending for endocrine/diabetes clinics and endocrinology consultation service for residents on the endocrinology rotation throughout the year. We have had a limited number of fellows over the years. I have actively participated in their clinical and research training. We have reinstated an accredited fellowship program in Endocrinology and Metabolism ,effective July 2006.We already have fellows recruited for the academic years, 2009 and 2010. Have organized monthly endocrinology conferences in the Lansing area and have been a frequent speaker at these conferences (discontinued around 1992). Co-director for the annual diabetes/endocrinology course (update) for the past thirty years. Director since 1996. Have been invited to speak at several hospitals locally as well as in and around the State on numerous occasions. Have participated as a speaker on numerous occasions at the annual sessions of the Michigan State Medical Society over the past several years. Have spoken on numerous occasions at National and International meetings in India. 50th Annual Meeting of the Association of Physicians from India, Madras, January 1995.
