were removed. Reasons for removal were: coil expulsion
(n = 2); acne (n = 2); headaches (n = 1); heavy bleeding
(n = 2); sterilisation (n = 1). Of the subjects, 9.84% (6/61)
planned to discontinue after 1 year. Four of these women
had inter-menstrual spotting > 4 days duration and one
